Are you looking to work for a respected and well known not for profit organisation dedicated to improving healthcare services?

Are you an experienced Software Engineer with knowledge of object-orientated design principles?


If so, we have a unique opportunity in Cardiff Gate for a Software Engineer to work for one of our clients who is a well-known and respected not for profit organization.

This position offers the opportunity to either work remotely or on a hybrid basis.

Occasional travel, overnight stays and flexibility of working hours will be required in support of the duties of the role.


In this role you would be working 35 per week worked across Monday to Friday, with some flexible working required due to the nature of the role.

Our client is offering an excellent salary depending on experience.


As the Software Engineer your responsibilities would include:

  • Research, identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
  • Maintenance and support of businesscritical database systems
  • Create, review, and maintain technical documentation
  • The development and maintenance of internally developed software solutions, observing industry coding standards
  • Continuous review and tuning of the bespoke webbased systems
  • Continuous review and tuning of content management systems
  • Advise on purchase and implementation of relevant hardware and software, writing technical specifications as necessary
  • The development and maintenance of supporting documentation ensuring accuracy of information
  • Supervisory responsibility for Engineers as required
  • Systems analysis, design, development, and support
  • An escalation point for high level support of business systems
  • Troubleshoot and debug escalated issues with existing business systems and sites
  • Ensure the availability of reporting services from business databases using 3rd party reporting tools, TSQL, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Ensure all business systems have a robust backup process in place to protect the integrity of the system and its data
  • Lead on the design, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan
  • The management of projects incorporating 3rd party design and project management tools, as required
  • Other duties as deemed reasonable

Person Specification:


  • Computer Science/Computing degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of developing and working with APIs and databases
  • Knowledge of unit testing and security principles
  • Experience in full lifecycle software development; discovery, implementation, testing and evaluation
  • Ability to ascertain business requirements and turn these into real technical solutions
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive problemsolving skills
  • Able to travel and stay overnight on occasion
