An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Gardener or a Senior Gardener to work as part of a team of three gardeners working in a private property reporting to a fully qualified and very experienced Head Gardener.

Starting salary is in the range of £24000 to £28000 per annum depending on experience and the role, plus NEST pension.

The work is five days per week 8.00am to 4.00pm with an hour off for lunch. There is neither weekend working nor overtime. Holiday entitlement is 23 days at full pay in addition to the normal public holidays.

In addition to carrying out the usual manual garden planting and maintenance tasks the team uses a wide range of mechanical tools incuding a tractor, mowers, chipper, chainsaws, strimmers, hedge cutters, spreaders, lawn treatment attachments, and sprayers.

The property receives 3/4 visits per year from garden societies.

The property comprises 2.5 acres of formal garden designed in compartments, with a further twelve acres of adjoining mowed grounds planted with trees, shrubs and bulbs, extensive hedging marking footpaths and boundaries.

There is a separate vegetable garden and orchard.

The garden includes formal lawns, a fully stocked 400 sqm pond, formal box knot garden, laburnum arch, pleached limes walk, yew hedges, hornbeam hedged colour garden, and extensive plantings of trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and ferns.

There are two large greenhouses in the garden. and a large Alitex greenhouse in the adjoining barn yard.
