About the role:

Due to an exciting new strategy leading to growth, we are looking for an Account Director.

  • Provide firstclass account management to a specific portfolio of 'Major' accounts.
  • Drive organic growth and retention of current contracts within own and others' portfolios.
  • Where appropriate, plan, organise and manage events at customer sites.
  • Monitor and evaluate market activities and take appropriate actions in order to maintain a competitive advantage through efficiency, innovation and service.
  • Analyse and track performance against budget, providing accurate and timely forecasts, based on potential upsales.
  • Support the Sales team on complex bids and provide account management innovations to increase the probability of success.
  • Working with Sales and the Head of Commercial, plan for, oversee and mobilise new clients or new services to existing clients supporting the Sales and Operations teams to offer a seamless transition.

About you:


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in Major account sales development with a consistent and proven track records
  • Results orientated, with a successful record of consistently meeting sales and retention targets
  • Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry would be advantageous but is not essential
  • A selfstarter who has a 'can do' attitude, demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with proven ability to quickly build relationships with new clients
  • Articulate, innovative and challenging mindset with strong collaborative style
  • Commercially aware and takes pride in the quality and standard of their work
  • PC literate with good knowledge of IT systems and full Microsoft Office suite
