Job description

Derby Museums

Hours: 14 Hours per week (2 days)

Contract Type:
Fixed term of 23 months, Starts February 2023

Location:
Derby Museum and Art Gallery

Derby Museums and Black Country Visual Arts are excited to have recently received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the Alternative Archive project.

This project will be co-created with Derby's South Asian communities. It will create an archive of photographs and accompanying stories connected to the collections of Derby Museums.

The archive will document the heritage of Derby's South Asian diasporas, deepening understanding across communities of the histories of migration and the city's historic development.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised project assistant who will be based at the Museum and Art Gallery and will work across this project's many partners.

The postholder will support all aspects of the project, with an emphasis on administration, record keeping and reporting.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent organisational skills, be a confident and clear communicator, have a strong eye for detail and a good understanding of what it takes to balance and prioritise multiple responsibilities in a busy project.
