As a Cloud Hosting Project Lead in our Engineering and Cloud Services branch, you will provide controls on the demand for engineered change to our Cloud Hosted Platform.

With a focus on prioritisation, capacity and cost optimisation you will enable the team to function effectively.

Strong interaction with stakeholders will be a daily feature and you will take ownership of project initiatives that need drive and strong delivery skills.

Change requirements are commonly substantially sized and require project leadership to drive progress, resolve difficulties and manage stakeholders.


Our Engineering and Cloud Services branch, located within the Chief Digital Office, delivers the infrastructure, capability, and digital solutions for Social Security Scotland.

With a diverse range of expertise, the team maintains and delivers a hosting platform that meets the needs of the organisation and more importantly, our users.


The Engineering & Cloud Services branch have an identified need for a Cloud Hosting Project Lead to support the ongoing efforts of the Cloud Hosting Product Owners and the Infrastructure Delivery Managers.

The role is part of a relatively small Hosting Delivery Team that maintains the 'front door' control on the requirement for cloud engineered deliverables, prioritising to enable timely delivery to our customers, managing engineering capacity, related budget and contracts.

  • Salary between £ £49860 plus a £5000 annual Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 month qualifying period. This supplement is backdated and paid with your monthly salary.

Responsibilities:


The Cloud Hosting Project Lead is a key role in the team, facilitating the development and delivery of core improvements to live services and affecting real change to the client experience.

This role will include but not be limited to the following duties:


  • Responsible for managing daytoday product planning and delivery on behalf of Cloud Product Owners / Delivery Managers, across a range of Cloud projects supporting delivery of the Cloud hosting platform and wider benefit delivery services.
  • Support the development and delivery of functionality, for which you are responsible, to meet the needs of both internal and external users.
