As an Estimator you would be working directly with the Supply Chain and Project Management team, liaising with clients, and suppliers, creating and providing accurate quotes to our clients and handling budget and cost reports for all projects.


This is a great opportunity for a highly ambitious and confident self-starter looking to join a dynamic and expanding company, who can build relationships with clients and hit the ground running.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Highly skilled in Excel.
  • Meeting and liaising with clients to identify their needs.
  • Establishing relationships with suppliers to achieve best value and commercial terms
  • Understanding the project/program and its requirements.
  • Determining key variables for cost and other estimates.
  • Overseeing projects to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts.
  • Calculating the cost of materials, transport, labour and equipment hire.
  • Obtaining quotes for all predicted requirements from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collating detailed price lists of everything needed on each project.
  • Keeping up to date with inflation, exchange rates and projected timescale costs.
  • Making visits to proposed construction sites to review progress with build and projects teams
  • Liaising with others including project managers, planners and design teams.
  • Supporting bids to clients and answering their questions when required
  • Preparing and submitting quotations/budgets for work.
  • A basic understanding of AutoCAD would be helpful but training will be provided
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as an estimator or similar position.
  • Highly proficient in numeracy and an analytical mindset.
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Capable of multitasking both immediate and longterm projects.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Excellent at problem solving.
  • A team player.
  • Organised and methodical
  • IT literate
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Understanding of current Health and Safety regulations.
