A very successful regional Mechanical and Electrical installation contractor
Location:
Westbury, Wiltshire Hours: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 1/2 hour for lunch 8.30 am to 4.
30 pm Friday, 1/2 hour for lunch RoleObjective:
To oversee and coordinate all aspects of the finance department, optimising efficiency and financial performance, ensuring the company achieves its strategic objectives by working closely with the finance team to manage all finance functions.
Furthermore, providing support to the Finance Director.Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide support to the finance administration team in the day to day running of the department.
- Assist in the management of company finances, maximising income and reducing expenditure.
- Accurately monitor and forecast cash flow.
- Bank reconciliations and point of contact for the bank.
- Approval and processing of bank payments.
- Processing of monthly interim invoices on contracted jobs.
- Work-InProgress reporting and follow up with the Contract Managers.
- Processing of staff payroll.
- Monthly and annual payroll reporting to HMRC.
- VAT submissions and payment.
- Maintenance of the orderbook spreadsheet with current and forecast sales invoicing.
- Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and expenses.
- Support the maintenance of an effective debt management process.
- Produce reports and journals for the monthly management accounts as required.
- Provide support to the Finance Director with yearend audit requirements.
- Ensure maintenance of accurate financial records.
- General administration, including answering the telephone and directing customer/client calls as required.
- All other Account Supervisor related duties as requested by a manager and determined reasonable due to the needs of the business.
- Previous experience working as an Accounts Supervisor, preferably managing a team.
- Knowledge of current accounting practice and legislation.
- Competent in all account processing functions.
- Understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Experienced in payroll and tax processing.
- Experience of contract costings preferred.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Capable planner and organiser, with a proven track record of delivering results based on a quality focus.
- Knowledge and skills to analyse and solve indepth problems and execute appropriate actions.
- IT literate comfortable with new technology and a digital approach, welldisciplined when it comes to electronic filing.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in groups, as well as the ability to communicate, verbally and nonverbally with others.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
