Role & ResponsibilitiesFast growing UK and international luxury retailer seeks a Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the finance function delivering this exciting vision to set a new benchmark in luxury retailing reporting to the owner/CEO
Their award-winning stores are located overseas in luxury locations.

Key responsibilities
Financial Management
- Monthly management accounts including narrative reports on budget & forecast variances.
- Weekly Project cost reporting including narrative report on budget & forecast variances.
- Weekly cash flow information to assist the Company plan payments.
- Monthly invoice review and associated billing administration.
- Insurances, including assets, professional indemnity, travel and events.
- Systems and procedures to ensure integrity of accounting information and safe custody of assets, including procedures to eliminate and detect fraud or theft of company assets.
- Day to day management of department staff including annual appraisal and recruitment as necessary.
- Annually, preparation of detailed financial budgets and cash flows.
- Ensuring the appropriate expenditure records str maintained.
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger and maintenance.
- Bank reconciliations and checking control accounts match including sales ledger, purchase ledger
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- P32 returns. PAYE/NI.
- Company debt and credit control
- Payroll and payroll annual returns.
- Asset register.
- Expenditure authorisation
- Annual accounts file for auditors and drafting of statutory accounts.
- Assist the CEO with effective communication/reporting of the company's financial performance.
- Completing annual returns and company secretarial filing.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, other obligations and identified best practice.
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/FCCA/CIMA.Essential
- Good standard of education preferably Degree level
- Minimum 7 years accountancy experience
- Minimum 3 years managing the entire accounting function for a small/medium sized owner/managed business
- Experience of managing staff within the accounting function
- Preferably experience within a retail organisation or an understanding of retail
- Preferably international experience
- Upto date working knowledge of Xero
- Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, software packages
- Ability to analise data, trends and reports to provide succinct management information
- Experience of budgeting and business planning
- Well developed time management skills
- Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure of tight and conflicting deadlines
- Ability to work in entrepreneurial, fastpaced business
- Ability to instigate and implement process improvements
- Experience of managing and motivating staff
- Good interpersonal skills
- High degree of accuracy, confidentiality and personal integrity
- Customer focused approach with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
- Flexible and adaptable
- Proactive approach to business cost reduction
