As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will wear a uniform and work at the heart of the local community across Hampshire, providing a visible and accessible presence to improve the quality of life.

You will be a key part in crime prevention by building partnerships with residents, groups, schools and others.


It is a role with the potential to send you home every day with a tangible feeling of pride, knowing you have made a real difference to the lives of people in our communities.

As part of the role, you will be given powers of entry to save life and prevent damage.


Please be aware that the start dates for new applicants will be early to mid 2024.

Salary and Other Benefits:

As well as a highly rewarding career, you will join us on Scale 4 (£23,289 to £25,560 per annum).

In addition, after your initial 15 weeks training, you will receive a shift allowance and weekend enhancement of approximately £400 per month (depending on shift pattern), meaning your potential salary would be in the region of £27,900.

Essential Application Criteria:

The minimum requirements for entry to the PCSO role are:

  • Educated to QCF Level 2 (GCSE at grade A*-C or 4-9 or equivalent) passes in English and Mathematics.
