Role Title Youth Worker


Salary Scale £11-£16 an hour depending on experience and qualifications


Hours available pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays


Location Various Locations, York


Responsible to Project manager / Inspire Youth Yorkshire CEO


Duration No fixed contract. Hours paid against a timesheet


Other requirements Willing to be involved in evening and weekend activities

  • Willing to undergo safeguarding children training
  • Willing to undergo other related training
  • Willing to deliver outreach and youth clubs as necessary
  • Willing to undertake high levels of admin and evaluation as necessary

Purpose of the role
To contribute to the planning and delivery of a variety of youth work projects and services within

Inspire Youth Yorkshire. A key aspect will be delivery from pre agreed locations from our mobile youth base or within community buildings.


Responsibilities

  • To assist in planning and delivery of a youth work programme and operational plan as directed by Project manager/CEO.
  • To assist delivery of outreach/youth club activities from a mobile facility or community space, talk to young people on the streets/in their communities and leading volunteers and other staff when required.
  • To assist in managing challenging behaviour and/or environments.
  • To assist in delivery of emotional support to young people.
  • To respond effectively and appropriately to any child/adult at risk protection/safeguarding concerns, as they arise.
  • To maintain accurate records of work delivered, evaluate and prepare reports on projects and resources for funders, management meetings and other purposes.
  • To use Inspire Youth Yorkshire's administrative and IT systems to ensure that records and reports and evaluations are accurate, up-to-date and carried out in a timely and orderly fashion.
  • To ensure that all activities comply with current and relevant legislation and follow best practice principles and adhere to Inspire Youth Yorkshire's service standards.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure proper observance of Inspire Youth Yorkshire's protocols relating to confidentiality, GDPR, Health and Safety and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • To carry out other duties, which may be assigned from time to time by the project manager/ CEO.


Maintaining high professional standards so as to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the young people is of paramount importance in this role.


The role will be predominately delivered through face-to-face work with groups from our mobile youth base, however there may be times where the settings vary and/or one to one support, group working or adhoc projects/events/activities are required.


You will be expected to deliver evening youth provision with an opportunity for additional hours out of term or weekend work which may require travel which would be pre agreed.

There may also be additional hours for planning, evaluating and reporting on sessions outside of delivery times.


Job Types:
Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Part-time hours: 2-10 per week


Salary:
£11.00-£16.00 per hour
