Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to join our small team, maintaining the company's financial accounts, ensuring data is accurate and easy to review.

This work plays a crucial role in the operation of our successful business, which can have many transactions daily, alongside weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines.

A minimum of three years' experience of using cloud-based accounting software packages, particularly QuickBooks or Sage is essential. An AAT qualification part or full is preferable. IT Literate with significant experience of using Excel desirable.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with administrative duties
- day-to-day financial tasks
- recording / matching transactions
- reconciling bank
- reconcile credit card accounts
- issuing credit notes

  • Completion of bank and cash account reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of purchase and sales ledgers
- sales and receipts, entering data into accounting software
- invoicing

  • Processing payments, including paying supplier invoices
- filing hard copies

  • Maintaining an accurate up to date customer database
- tracking bank account balances

  • Preparation of VAT returns and filing with HMRC
  • Perform yearend journal entries to adjust for prepayments and accruals
  • Interpreting financial statements showing business income, cash flow and expenditure
  • Understanding of profit and loss and balance sheets
  • Verifying the accuracy of accounts, alerting and actioning any errors
  • Recording any inconsistencies to help reconcile inaccuracies
- support in preparing yearly accounts

Job Types:

Salary:
£21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
