Food Manufacturing

A food manufacturing company are looking for a Controls Engineer to join the automation team. Working Monday to Friday days, you will working within the automation team to increase production output of machinery. Reviewing current PLC & HMI programs, rewriting,amending or writing new control systems. You will have experience of working with PLC's with the ability to read ladder logic and write programs.

As a Controls Engineeryour day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.

  • Develop and program PLCs and HMIs, such as Rockwell, Schneider Omron or Siemens from design to completion.
  • Organise, plan and monitor work in collaboration with internal contacts and external service providers
  • Write technical documents.
  • Test and commission equipment, optimise and set up new production lines in terms of efficiency, flow and quality.
  • Participate in technological innovation.
  • Work with the mechanical engineering team on production lines, focusing on optimization, improvement and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and deliver training on existing and new technologies for the site maintenance team.
An exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer with the following.

  • Degree or Apprentice trained Engineer within Mechatronics or Electrical instrumentation engineering.
  • At least 12 months' experience working within a controls or automation role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering, with experience of programming PLC's & HMI's.
  • Experience in PLC languages such as Rockwell, Schneider, Omron or Siemens.
  • Understanding of Robotic and Motion systems
  • PC literate including with Microsoft Office packages
  • Positive thinking and selfmotivated individual with good communication skills
