We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced dynamic midwife to join our team who is passionate about delivering high, quality care, along with achieving the highest possible patient experience.
The Tyne Valley Bright Horizons midwifery service has 3 teams East, West and Central. This is a continuity, case loading model to deliver the Better Births vision.Full time or Part time hours could be considered
There is an on call commitment is to support low risk births in Hexham maternity unit/home however, as part of the continuity model, opportunity will be given for you to attend Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital with women from your caseload for planned care in the consultant unit.
You should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, have a flexible approach to care and working practices as well as being sensitive to women's needs and choices.
To assume responsibility for the devolved management of a ward/unit/caseload including the assessment of care needs, the implementation of evidence based programme of care in the absence of the Band 7 Midwife.
To be responsible for all midwifery care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To participate in on-call hospital/community rota.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
