Description
To provide Art therapy assessments of referred clients, using interview and other assessment methods as appropriate.

To formulate and devise individualised Art Therapy interventions and management plans for referred clients with a range of problems of severity and complexity, including those with behaviours of concern, and to provide treatment for such clients, using a range of Art Therapy interventions appropriate to the service and the needs of the individual client.

To provide clinical advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, diagnosis and treatment of clients, particular those with complex or high risk presentations.

To provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.

To liaise with other health and social care staff, from a range of agencies, in the care provided to clients.

- To provide professional and clinical supervision of trainees and undergraduates as appropriate

  • To provide advice, consultation, training and supervision, where appropriate, to other health and social care staff working with the client group.
  • To propose and develop procedures and policies for service provision within ILDP, taking account of policies for Trust services as a whole and the need to ensure good working practice within London Borough of Islington (LBI, i.e. the local authority). To monitor and audit service provision, ensuring practice meets best professional and evidencebased standards.
  • To liaise with GPs, mental health service managers, other senior clinicians and managers in health, social care and nonpublic sector (e.g. external care providers, advocacy groups) in delivery and development of psychological therapies
