Hardcastle Burton is a 6 partner accountancy practice based in Royston. Hardcastle
Burton is a highly respected accountancy firm operating within Accounts, tax, advisory and audit. The firm is ever increasing in size, the team now having over 55 members of staff.


The Role


Working as part of our administration team, you will undertake a number of general administration duties and you will also be the first point of contact for day to day IT issues and this role would suit someone who is keen to develop their IT knowledge.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administration duties:

  • Answering inbound telephone calls and dealing with all calls in a professional manner.
  • Handling of incoming and outgoing post.
  • Document production and scanning.
  • Setting up of meeting rooms.
  • Keeping the reception, meeting rooms and kitchen clean and tidy.

IT duties:

  • First point of contact for IT issues in relation to hardware and software.
  • Point of contact between HB and our IT provider.
  • Becoming the "system champion" for our IT system and improving our use of the firm software.
  • Liaison with relevant suppliers or support companies where appropriate.
  • Updating and creation of templates.
General team administration duties as requested.


Education and Work Experience

  • A keen interest in IT and systems.
  • Educated to at least A Level standard or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within the accountancy or legal sector.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the IRIS Accountancy suite would be beneficial.
