Deutsche Bank's Rates business leads with scale and strength in providing asset and liability solutions to institutional and corporate clients globally.

We give clients access to the Bank's liquidity and product expertise through our global sales, trading, and structuring teams, as well as our electronic trading channels.

Our product range includes fixed income securities, exchange traded funds and derivatives in interest rates, long dated foreign exchange (FX), multi-asset correlation products and commodities.


The role is to join the Rates Front Office Business Management and Control Unit (BMC), responsible for the effective management and oversight of the risk and control environment for Rates.

You will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of non-financial risk (NFR) frameworks and controls as well as implementing change agendas that address issues common across the Rates franchise, such as regulatory initiatives, audit findings, front-to-back change programmes, updating existing and rolling new out controls, ensuring adherence to policies.

The Rates BCU will work alongside Business Management as a BMC function.

Your key responsibilities

  • Shape, develop and implement nonfinancial risk (NFR) frameworks across the Rates business
  • Oversee the business control environment for Rates
  • Develop and manage NFR and control engagements with multiple stakeholders including Front Office, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk and Finance
  • Identify and understand control gaps and develop and execute remediation plans
  • Evaluate reports and Management Information Systems, to make independent business decisions, implement necessary changes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies
  • Oversee various initiatives across the broader control landscape including management of a portfolio of projects, business analysis and process improvements. Assist with regulatory and audit engagements including coordination of meetings and delivery

Your skills and experience

  • Previous Investment Banking experience, preferably within Front Office, with exposure to second and third line functions, such as Compliance, Non-Financial Risk, Legal and Audit
  • Sound understanding of the macro investment banking environment and industry initiatives, particularly around regulation with knowledge of the fronttoback trade lifecycle
  • Ability to work within a team and effectively liaise with supporting functions to plan and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to identify key risks and escalate appropriately
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to review and synthesise technical content to senior level management
