DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION


4Studio is the engine room for C4's digital acceleration strategy, with the primary mission to create, adapt and distribute content across the key social media channels.

The primary activities of 4Studio will be to curate (existing) and create (new) short-form content and distribute it through actively managed social media channels.

The Scrum Master will work very closely with key people and departments involved in these processes within C4 and on occasion with external stakeholders.


  • The Operations team are the master plate spinners and process developers in 4Studio. Made up of Operations, Project & Process Managers, they're the central team that ensure our ways of working are agile and efficient for each of the 4Studio workstreams. The Operations team are the key contacts for keeping projects & processes flowing smoothly and efficiently through the studio.
  • The role will be based in C4's National HQ in Leeds and will be a key component of C4's regional strategy, providing creative job opportunities outside of London and expanding the diversity of the company's creative contribution.
    JOB PURPOSE

We are hiring a Scrum Master to help us build and deliver the operating environment behind this & be our go-to person for all things Sprints.


  • Bringing extensive experience of working with creative and/or digital content publishing teams, the Scrum Master will be responsible for managing our content production & publishing sprints: rolemodelling and coaching team members & departmental leadership in the process, facilitating ceremonies, leading incredibly strong communication to stakeholders within 4Studio, getting their hands dirty to solve problems & challenges, and helping us to continually improve the process and performance of the teams involved.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Using your experience in similar roles, coach and lead the 4Studio team as we implement Sprints within 4Studio
  • Ensure Sprint processes are defined, maintained and effective, and be the champion of change where things need to adapt
  • Work with our Sprint teams and wider stakeholders to remove obstacles and solve issues at pace
  • Use data to steer positive Sprint outcomes and continuous improvement of the process
  • Help the Strategists/Product Owners maintain the sprint backlogs
  • Ensure all members of each team understand the Sprint goals and scope
  • Guide the Sprint teams to agree on what they can achieve during each production Sprint (or another period)
  • Facilitate the daily standups and other key Sprint ceremonies, helping the teams to reach a consensus and understand priorities
  • Administer and maintain the Sprint tools and processes
  • Create and deliver strong and effective reporting for stakeholders keeping the organisation, particularly the management and leadership teams within 4Studio, up to date on the progress of Sprints
  • Protect the team from distractions and be the guardian of Sprints within 4Studio
  • Coach team members and wider stakeholders (including Social Media Strategists, Analysts, Producers, Editors, Social Media Managers and our Leadership team) on their roles within Sprints, helping to ensure the process succeeds and the teams become selforganising.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Extensive experience using Agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Proven Scrum Master, Traffic Manager or Project Management experience in Digital, Social Agency, or TV sector.
  • Demonstrable experience working with a high volume of projects, shifting timelines and implementing reactive processes to fix issues
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of digital production processes
  • Proven proactive problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders from the creative team to the management team
  • Excellent facilitation skills; able to guide teams to make the right decisions, prioritise workloads effectively and understand risk
  • Resource management; understanding how to best utilise people's time and resource to cultivate an effective agile team and drive maximum value
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Must be approachable and collaborative
