Our Accommodation site in Cambridge has 80 rooms, providing a home for 16-25-year-olds.

We have a fantastic team of accommodation workers, providing ongoing support and encouragement to the young people living at Queen Anne House, which is located in the centre of Cambridge by Parkers Piece, easy to get to via public transport, or if you travel by car we have free onsite car parking too.


Job Role We are recruiting an Assistant Accommodation Project Worker to work full-time within our Accommodation Team based in Cambridge.


This is an opportunity to work with and support young people to develop socially, personally, and holistically building their confidence and independence.

We focus on a strength-based approach to our work.

Working with young people to develop individualised support planes co-produced with each young person and centred around their needs, expectations, and goals.


This role will include working a 7-day week rota, with two consecutive days off either during the week or at the weekend.


Skills and Experience **In summary, the successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • Ability to work within a reactive environment
  • Wellmotivated
  • Able to interact with people from varied backgrounds
  • Able to work evenings and occasional weekends and public holidays and participate in the 'oncall' arrangement
  • Understand the aims and purposes of the YMCA
  • High levels of honesty, integrity and discretion

Days and Hours 40 Hours/5 days Per Week. Combination of Early Shifts (8am-4:30pm) and Late Shifts (1:30pm-10pm), working over a 7 day rota


Salary and Benefits Annual salary £20612

_Sessional Contracts Available too _

  • Some of our teams have the opportunity to work flexible hours on a sessional contract as a relief project worker, picking up shifts that fit round their availability. _
