Job Location:
The main place of work is Greenbank College, Greenbank Lane, Liverpool L17 1AG. The post holder may be required to work in different locations from time to time.


Job Purpose


To deliver employability and citizenship curriculum classes to young people to support their development and workplace skills for those who are actively looking for placement, employment and training opportunities in line with their career aspirations.

To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.

To facilitate and encourage learners to maximise their digital skills to dramatically enhance their employability prospects.

Help students utilise their digital skills to research employers and practitioners in the field, exploring job openings and establishing connections with local industry.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Devise a programme of learning (scheme of work) with appropriate teaching and learning strategies, resources and assessments.
  • Deliver sessions on topics such as education on safeguarding, bullying, online safety, British Values and other integral elements covered by the Ofsted Inspection Framework
  • Collaborating with tutors to design holistic and coordinated employability and citizenship lessons based on their specific vocational areas. Ensure the employability sessions are directly linked to actual job vacancies and are


effectively supporting learners to fully understand their responsibility for increasing their chances of sustained employment or voluntary work (depending on their career pathway).


  • Collaborate with the work experience department to maximise the quality of the sessions and create bespoke training for learners who have specific work experience or employment opportunities.
  • Network, arrange and support local guest speakers (employers/trainers/authorities/educators/charities) who will be able to deliver meaningful and relevant talks to students.
  • Provide guidance on job market trends, industries in demand, and emerging employment opportunities to help learners make informed career choices.
  • Design and deliver instructional materials and resources tailored to the specific needs of learners, covering topics such as job search strategies, networking, professional communication, and workplace etiquette.
  • Assess learners' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their skills development, addressing areas such as interview performance, presentation skills, and written communication.
  • Educate learners on the rights, responsibilities, and privileges associated with citizenship, including knowledge of government institutions, history, and cultural integration.
  • Deliver interactive lessons and workshops on citizenshiprelated topics, promoting civic engagement, and facilitating discussions on citizenship rights and responsibilities.
  • Deliver digital skills training not only enhances students' chances of sustainable employment, but also outlines how to manage their digital footprint and use social media responsibly.
  • Leverage digital skills and social media to enhance employability opportunities, Assist students with development of a digital strategy which may include LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Pinterest.
  • Stay updated with current employment trends, labour market information, and citizenship regulations to provide accurate and relevant guidance to learners.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and outcomes, and produce reports as required.
