Be part of the first public sector SAP Rise implementation

  • Would you like a challenge that could set you up for the rest of your career? How about contributing to our organisation's implementation of SAP S/4 HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba and OpenText implementation? How about working in a team that sets high goals, thinks about your development, and challenges the way in which an organisation fundamentally operates through a joinedup approach? If the answer is "yes", then our One Programme will do just that. Through a series of projects leading to the implementation of an ERP system across the organisation, we are creating a team to ensure that our people benefit in every sense from the changes we will bring._

About the team and role:

As Test Subject Matter Expert you will be working hand in hand with our system implementation partner and working closely with data workstreams and stakeholders involved in User Acceptance Testing, to fundamentally lead and facilitate the robust testing of our new system implementations.

The One Programme comprises several inter-related projects such as introducing OpenText to improve the vendor invoice management process and to store HR documentation and the introduction of our Rise contract with SAP rolling out S/4 HANA, SuccessFactors and Ariba.

Reporting to the Technical Workstream Lead you will be responsible for testing from strategy (with a particular emphasis on cross functional elements) through to defect management/resolution.

You will be involved in and oversee the creation of test scripts and test scenarios and compose test plans. You will work with the change team to train and support a number of user acceptance testers.

In short, your testing expertise will be instrumental to ensuring the success of the first SAP Rise public sector implementation of this scope in the UK.

This opportunity will support your professional growth and development within an organisation that empowers you to bring your new ideas and help us development the organisation.

About you:

To achieve the objectives for this role, you will have a real depth of system test knowledge and will have experience of writing and executing strategies and test plans, supporting, guiding and mentoring colleagues from workstreams and from other council services to ensure robust, well documented testing of a high standard.

You will have experience of managing defects and ensuring their resolution in line with project timescales.

You will have new system implementation experience and ERP implementation experience is highly desirable, as is your knowledge and experience of testing.

You are not on your own.

You will be part of the One Team Programme team, working with colleagues from other functional areas to provide a connected approach for everything we do.

You're an optimist, enjoy working collaboratively, and always keep the end user at the forefront of your thinking. You will have good interpersonal and organisational skills to co-ordinate and monitor data cleansing.

As important are your skills. You have a "can do" attitude, an analytical mind and an exceptional level of detail. You are happy to challenge and question to achieve your objectives.

Collaborative, influential and adaptable are all required traits for this role which will provide clear advantages in propelling your career for years to come.

About us:

As part of the team in return for your hard work you will receive:

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities
  • Annual leave entitlement of 25.5 (pro rata)
  • Supportive and positive working environment
  • Excellent Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
