Due to an increasing workload, RPS is seeking to recruit
Town Planners to join our Planning & Environmental team.

The post will be based in our Belfast office, but duties may require travelling throughout the UK and Ireland.


The Planning and Environmental team within RPS has been involved in a wide range of projects from small scale housing developments up to major road schemes and infrastructure projects.


Experience:


  • A graduate with a degree level qualification in Planning (minimum 2:1).
  • Planning work experience beyond academic study (minimum 12 months achieved either during studies, industrial placement, vacation work or since).
  • Ability to interpret construction/design plans and drawings and understand how these manifest physically.
  • Able to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Sound knowledge of UK and or Irish Planning policy and legislation.
  • Interest in all aspects of Planning.
  • Ability to deliver Planning solutions, and successfully manage time to meet project deadlines.
  • A hard working and highly motivated individual with excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach with a high level of commitment towards the job.
  • Full current driving licence and access to a form of transport to travel to various sites to carry out the duties of the post.

Qualifications:


  • Degree level in relevant suitable town planning discipline

Duties / Responsibilities?
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Excellent reporting skills with ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team and with clients
  • Liaising with other members of the RPS Planning & Environmental Team to deliver an effective service to our clients
  • Supporting Director in business development activities
  • Production of feasibility reports.
  • Assistance towards the coordination of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Field visits and surveys.
  • Research and analysis.
  • Community and stakeholder consultation.
