As a member of the Network team this vital role provides dedicated expertise to assist the MD of the Network Advice Business and their wider leadership team.

This role is pivotal in driving the strategic vision and execution of our Network Distribution initiatives.

About the Role


Our Business Support Executive will assist the Head of Network business to concentrate on their client facing and strategic planning and to divert work away either dealing with this directly or delegating throughout the business and referring back if its business critical.

To ensure on-going alignment of organisational activity across the respective business area.


The role will play a key part in engaging and communicating with multiple stakeholders, both senior and across the organisation, undertaking a diverse range of activities to help move the department forward.

The incumbent should have the necessary skills to implement from a hands-on operational level.


You will manage the delivery of MI for the MDs respective business area and compile meeting packs or arrange others to prepare appropriate briefing materials for upcoming meetings as necessary as well as working alongside the MD, you'll translate strategic objectives into business operational objectives which are communicated and understood by staff and advisers.

Retaining a coherent plan for the MD's adviser engagement in alignment with the formal events calendar maintained by marketing.

Ensure they are briefed for any external engagements and support Marketing to ensure other senior attendees are similarly prepared where the MD is owning the adviser engagement.


This includes:

  • Review papers ahead of key meetings on behalf of the MD highlighting key areas of importance and challenge.
  • Accountable for own BAU Project Delivery as necessary.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Supporting the MD in enabling communication and collaboration with other parts of the organisation to facilitate strategic alignment of organisational activity.
  • Representing MD at various internal meetings / committees as delegated.
  • Ensuring effective communications and relationship management exists across the wider function.
  • Develop an effective personal networking arrangement that ensures awareness of key business activities and highlight issues that require MD involvement and attention.
  • Ensure governance standards are maintained including the management and closure of Audit / compliance actions.
  • Collaborating with other senior managers on projects designed to improve practices.
  • Within the remit of this role, monitor the effectiveness of the processes needed to support the head of Network, reviewing, and recommending changes where necessary.
  • In line with any delegated authorities granted, review budgets, check invoices and financial forecasting and ensure financial plans and ongoing reviews are delivered on time monitoring progress and identifying obstacles.
