Purchasing Project Manager - Food & Beverage

Salary £45-55K

Based in Milton Keynes this client has helped some of the UK's biggest and most prestigious brands in the Food industry to optimise and improve their procurement performance.

They are currently looking for an experienced Procurement expert with strong project and stakeholder management skills to lead a number of procurement and supply chain projects for our clients.

This opportunity is a permanent role and has headroom to developfurther within the business.

What will the role require you to do?

Take accountability for client projects, ensuring the scope, deliverables, project plan and risks are managed to ensure timely delivery of work;
Work with the client stakeholders (typically up to Clevel) to ensure agreed business (procurement) requirements and objectives are met;
Lead the project team consisting of buyers and analysts to support the delivery of projects
Ensure strong communication both internally and externally with the client and Suppliers
Develop and coach members of the buying team

You will need to have the following essential experience and skills:

Experience in senior procurement and category management roles within the food industry;
Previous experience of excellent stakeholder management at a senior level up to CEO;
Demonstrates a good understanding of complex supply chain models ideally within the foodservice industry;
Ability to articulate and present the complex in simple terms
Experience of managing and leading projects and project teams through to completion;
Excellent level of IT competence including Microsoft Windows Software such as Excel;
High level of numeracy and an analytical approach;
Strong financial and commercial acumen and attention to detail;
Ability to influence;
Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
Ability to organise and prioritise workload;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
Strong negotiator and the ability to communicate at all levels.
