ABOUT US

National Energy Action, the national fuel poverty, campaigns so that everyone can afford to live in a warm, healthy and safe home, something denied to millions because of poor housing, low incomes and high bills.

We believe everyone should be able to afford to keep their homes warm and safe, however, low incomes, high energy bills and poor energy efficiency currently deny this to millions of households across the UK.

Our vision is to end fuel poverty.

We work across Northern Ireland, England and Wales to ensure that everyone can afford to live in a warm, healthy home.

We do this by:
Providing advice and supportto people struggling to heat their homes affordably, either directly or via community engagement projects and outreach

Campaigning and advocacyto ensure that the needs of fuel poor households are at the heart of policy decisions

Undertaking researchand sharing insights

Developing accredited trainingand qualifications to improve standards of energy advice

We can't do this alone.

For over 40 years we've worked in partnership with policymakers, manufacturers, installers, energy suppliers and networks, local authorities, housing associations, universities, and many others with an interest in understanding and supporting those in fuel poverty.

Since the energy crisis began in 2021, millions of people are unable to stay safe and warm in their own homes.

Our figures show that the number of UK households in fuel poverty increased from 4.5 million to a new high of 7.5 million in April 2023.

Our services have never been in more demand.

We are expanding our team in Northern Ireland and are looking for a part-time, Communications Officer to promote our work and build our network of stakeholders and supporters via print media, broadcast outlets and social media.

We offer colleagues a friendly, rewarding workplace and the chance to build a worthwhile career with a not-for-profit organisation that is proud to make a genuine difference to people's lives each and every day.
