We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to manage our small team responsible for sourcing and procuring PCB's, optics, cabling, and packaging, ensuring OTD and developing strong supplier relationships to ensure that the business operational needs are met through demonstrable metrics.
This position belongs to the Industrial Division Europe & Asia and reports to the General Manager based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Buyer Team Leader include, but are not limited to:
- Manage team to negotiate and schedule material demands from ERP system to support production schedule
- Build strong relationships with functions at the Farnborough site
- Sales, Engineering, Planning, Quality and Production
- Ability to meet tight deadlines by utilising all available subcontract resource
- Develop new opportunities for improvements to support the business plan
- Understand capacity of supply chain and develop supplier partnerships to support business goals
- Monitor supplier performance and support improvement on performance
- OTD, Quality and Cost
- Maintain competitive supply chain through recompete activities
- Support Route Cause analysis investigations to defects
- Support NWC reduction activities through MRP analysis
- Make required site visits to new and existing Suppliers
- Support Operations team meetings to monitor deliveries in line with productions schedule
- Make sure all Quality standards are understood and maintained by the suppliers
- Driving performance within the team to exceed departmental cost and efficiency savings target

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Buyer Team Leader are:
- 3-5 years of procurement experience is essential
- Management, mentoring or leadership experience
- Experience of subcontract purchasing
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems
- Must have strong numeracy skills
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiating and presentation skills
- Ability to understand diagrams and drawn parts
- Punctual and excellent timekeeping
- Recognises and takes accountability for own tasks
- Problem solver

Salary:
£41,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
