Join us as our befriending assistant

Would you be interested in being part of the volunteering and community team delivering a befriending service and community groups for D/deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people?

The role will include:


  • Visiting D/deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people in Birmingham who are feeling isolated
  • To provide company, chat over tea/coffee,
  • Share hobbies and potentially support the person to join one of our community groups.

The person we are looking for should have:

  • Great communication skills including at least BSL level 3 or native BSL user
  • People skills and flexible to the demands of the service
It would be beneficial if you have previous experience in supporting people in the community.
