Working for a large logistics/storage facility.Key Areas of responsibility
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
- Prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customerservice standards; resolve problems; complete audits.
- Critically evaluate raw data in order to identify trends and forecasts.
- Prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyse variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Maintain Health and Safety at work, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Accomplish operations and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
- Meet or exceed operations labour budget expectations.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to manage staff levels, compensation and levels of contract labour to budget figures.
- Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees.
- Responsible for vehicle and heavy equipment rentals.
- Establish contracts and pricing and ensuring proper maintenance and serving as primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health and safety agencies.
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors and track vendor pricing, rebates, and service levels.
- Review and approve relating invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment.
- Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
- Work closely with GM, HR team and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems.
- Work closely with the stock management team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively.
- Management of staff from beginning to end of the employee lifecycle with support and guidance from the HR department.
Skills, Education and Experience required
- Experience gained in a supply chain/warehousing industry for a minimum of 10 years
