The Worcestershire and Herefordshire Research Consortium (WHRC) is a new collaborative between Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Wye Valley NHS Trust, Worcester Health and Care NHS Trust to provide management and leadership to research activities within each organisation.

This role is the most senior management role, overseeing research operations and strategy in all organisations of the consortium.

They will work closely with the Clinical Leads / R&D Directors of each organisation to ensure the organisations are supported in achieving their objectives.


Overseeing the R&D teams in each organisation, they will be responsible for ensuring research is promoted, managed and delivered in accordance with the WHRCs requirements, legal frameworks and government standards.

They will significantly contribute to the research strategy, developing R&D activity within the Trusts.


Key to this post will be the oversight of research income relative to pay and non-pay budgets to ensure research can be supported for future years.


The post will be based in the research department at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust but will need to travel to the other sites as required.
