As a result of an internal promotion, this recognisable international development charity is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be full responsible forleading the day-to-day aspects for all things technical accounting, from managing month end, to maintaining financial controls and statutory reporting.


The key duties of this Financial Accountant role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for maintaining all existing financial controls across the charity, identifying any process gaps and updating existing policies as appropriate.
  • Take the lead in the month end ledger closure, ensuring all data has been accurately reconciled and posted into the system.
  • Work in close partnership with the Financial Controller in the production of the annual statutory accounts for the group.
  • Act as a key contact for the External Auditors and ensure they receive all data files requested in a timely fashion.
  • Produce a full set of statutory accounts for two of the organisation's subsidiaries.
  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, although this is not essential.
  • Previous experience of producing statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.
  • Brilliant communication skills and an energetic demeanour.
  • And proactive, problemsolving mind set.
