Description

Market-leading organisation require a Category Manager. Technical manufacturing or engineering procurement experience would be useful as would familiarity with engineers as stakeholders. Exciting role with strategic sourcing and SRM elements.

The Category Manager will report to a Senior Category Manager, and be responsible for developing/implementing procurement strategies for the mechanical category.

The role ha a spend of c£8m associated across 180 vendors. Operational support is availablein the form of an MRP-focused, purchasing team. The key elements of this role will be sourcing, supplier and stakeholder management.

Specific duties of the Category Manager include:

Contribute to the implementation and development of the mechanical procurement strategy
Manage stakeholder relationships in engineering develop a supply chain to support their needs
Supply market intelligence activities for the mechanical commodity
Lead sourcing projects
Supplier relationship management

Category Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

Procurement expertise within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Experience as a Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Category Management or equivalent
The ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders
Negotiation skills
Comfortable with a hybrid working model
