Description
To misquote Ernest Shackleton:
ZOMPers wanted for hazardous journey. Uncertainty, hard problems, change inevitable. Chance of success doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success (and your shares paying out, of course).
ZOMP is a spin-out from the University of Cambridge building the world's first 3D image-based cell sorter. We believe that in the future, all cells will be imaged. On this hazardous journey you will be mentored by leaders that will bring out your most creative scientific solutions.
Role Outcome
We need you to help us to integrate the hardware in the prototype to make a pre-production device. This involves getting hardware to talk to each other by writing code and using supplier software. Optics hardware needs to communicate with microfluidics hardware, for example.
Why join ZOMP?
Our job as leaders is to offer you the highest quality mentoring you can expect to receive in your career.
You will gain knowledge each year at ZOMP that might take 3 or more years in a larger business. We are still at the research phase so the opportunity for scientific creativity is very high. There will also be opportunities to progress into more senior roles very quickly as we scale. What do you need to have?:
- A minimum of 6 months practical experience with hardware integration
- The ability to write software (Java, C++, Python or Matlab, as examples)
- Some experience with having to specify, buy and build a device, from a standing start
- A microscopy or optics background
