We have recently created a new Shared Services Directorate, which has been formed by centralising operational colleagues from Human Resource, Finance, Technology and Property, Procurement & Security (PPSD) to enable a focus on operational service delivery.

The Shared Services Directorate is structured as PPSD, Business Services and the Central Services COO.


The Business Services Division is an efficient and effective operational service undertaking financial and people processes for colleagues in the Advisory areas of Finance & Performance and People & Culture.

It is also responsible for meeting the Bank's requirement for User Access Management, Information Management and Management Information.

Our vision is to provide a streamlined, efficient operational service to colleagues through a focus on process improvement, people development and automation.


Department Overview


The Procurement Division is responsible for delivering value-for-money for the Bank of England, compliance with all procurement policies and regulations and managing third-party risk.


Job description


This role will be part of the Commercial Operations team, responsible for developing the Bank's Source-to-Contract capability and driving forward the Bank's e-procurement strategy while maximising the effectiveness of our current P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes.

As part of this, you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitate the Procurement Helpdesk to support stakeholders with e-procurement system flows and governance, acting as the first point of contact for queries.
  • Introducing new suppliers to the Banks' procurement systems.
  • Supporting the Operation Analyst with the Bank's P2P and catalogue systems, improving and maintaining protocols to ensure alignment to the procurement policies, and working with Finance to resolve any purchase orderrelated invoice queries.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Bank's digital procurement roadmap.
  • Delivering procurement system training to the Procurement team and other business areas within the Bank, to facilitate procurement system rollout and continuous improvement.
  • Enabling the continuous improvement and efficiencies in the Bank's digital procurement processes, including automation where possible, and data management (notably data integrity).
  • Facilitating the running of procurement metrics and data visualisation dashboards tailored to various audiences.
  • Supporting the Commercial Operations Lead by configuring the ERP system (when delivered) in line with procurement policies and best practice.

The scope of the role includes the following:

  • Data collection, cleansing, storage, analytics and visualisation (such as contract information, risk and performance metrics, etc.), including the design and maintenance of dashboards tailored to various audiences across the Bank.
  • All procurement systems (including P2P, procurement catalogues, sourcing, contract and Supplier Relationship Management, supplier due diligence systems, etc)
  • Experience of data collection, cleansing, analytics, and eprocurement systems (notably P2P and sourcing).
  • Experience of digital procurement system configuration in line with customer needs (including sourcing and P2P systems).
  • Experience of running training for colleagues.
  • Good understanding of Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

It would also be advantageous to be MCIPS qualified (or working towards it) and have experience of configuring eSourcing systems.
