In this role as IT Procurement Lead you'll be responsible for establishing the IT Procurement function at Lowell, delivering cost savings and lowering the risk profile of the organisation in respect of all IT suppliers.

This is a greenfield role with significant responsibility for the job holder to build up the category from the ground up and deliver significant measurable financial impact for Lowell.


Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the managing and optimising the IT budget of £53m across all of the IT subcategories across the whole of the Lowell group
  • Partnering with the Group CIO and the wider IT team to identify and deliver value including savings opportunities
  • Become the trusted partner for the IT team at Lowell for all 3rd party negotiations, allowing these tasks to the transferred to Procurement and carried out to a very high standard in a sustainable way
  • Build solid relationships with senior commercial contacts in the supplier base, ensuring optimal terms and cost reductions through retenders/negotiations and improved purchasing terms
  • Advise on optimum negotiation strategies and value leavers based on the type of purchase
  • Ensure that Lowell is not exposed to commercial and contractual risks outside our risk appetite
  • Drive alignment between Business and Procurement strategies
  • Create and issue RFx in conjunction with the IT team
  • Lead negotiator for large, high profile deals
  • Benchmark industry best practice to advance the Procurement value and capabilities
  • Challenge positively the thinking of internal stakeholders using past experience and external insights
  • Negotiate robust contracts while ensuring optimum flexibility and overall value
  • Manage Purchase orders using Coupa
  • Maintain our contract database for IT using Zefort
  • Promote the value added of the Procurement team and be the steward of the group Procurement policy

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrable experience managing end to end IT procurement categories including SW, HW, On prem & cloud experience, Telcos and networks that can show overall cost savings with no impact on service
  • Deep knowledge of commercial and contractual negotiations with large IT OEM providers
  • Experience identifying and developing innovative solutions with business partners
  • Proven record of delivering against KPIs
  • Ability to influence wide range of stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships
  • Highly collaborative
  • Understanding of risk and ability to mitigate this through a variety of strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
