We are looking for a new Quality Inspector with inspection and soldering experience to join our team - and would love to hear from you if you fit the bill

Are you a Quality Inspector with a keen eye for detail and experience in inspecting PCBs, incoming materials and components, and also performing quality inspections on subassemblies, manufactured products/spares, both within and at the end of the manufacturing process to defined quality processes and procedures? Your working life:


  • This role is open to applicants who are able to work in the UK and is based at our modern factory facility in Petersfield, Hampshire.
  • You'll be working Monday
  • Wednesday 7am5pm and Thursday, 7am4.30pm as part of a dedicated team within the Production department
  • You'll have on the job training with support from your Team Leader and Quality Manager to ensure you have all the knowledge you need to succeed.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

Your role as Quality Inspector will include:

  • Performing inspections on PCBs, products, both manufactured and repaired, to ensure quality levels are maintained including rework of products.
  • Reading and understanding engineering documents to ensure that incoming materials are compliant.
  • Reviewing and approving incoming material by confirming specifications to assure material quality and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Reporting results of inspection activities.
  • Keeping accurate and uptodate records on WIP and endofline inspection failures.
  • Performing random inspections and audits in the production area, carrying out inspections on paperwork, including travellers, fault logs and dispatch checklist paperwork.
  • Inspecting materials for defects, and ensuring where inspection identifies an error, this is recorded and corrective action is both recorded and actioned.
  • Inspecting all maintenance logs in the production area to ensure they are being maintained correctly.
  • Soldering to IPC 610 standard.
  • Pretesting of components, PCBs and subassemblies.
You'll also work with your production colleagues to assemble and manufacture products to meet customer requirements as required.

You'll be able to understand and read technical drawing specifications and follow assembly instructions as required.


You'll work closely with your colleagues in our Research & Development department, supporting them with new product development as and when required.


About you You will have:


  • The right to work in the UK
  • Experience of working as a quality inspector with specific experience of PCB inspection, PCB rework and inspection of manufactured products.
  • Good manual dexterity and high level of attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of quality and working to quality and Company procedures and processes
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised, including fluent English and good communication skills, both written and spoken
  • A proficient level of computer literacy, and feel comfortable using multiple systems (all training will be provided)
  • Awareness of medical quality standard EN ISO13485.

You will be:


  • Proficient at soldering to IPC 610 standard with excellent attention to detail.
  • Trained to IPC 'J' Standard, though training will be given.
  • Enthusiastic to increase your knowledge and develop new skills
  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work as required by the Company to meet customer requirements and fulfil business needs.
  • Happy to work in all departments as and when required to fulfil business needs
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible, prepared to work overtime to suit the business needs as required
