Senior Logistics Manager

£60,000 - £70,000 per annum

London (Stratford)


Grafton UK is recruiting exclusively for a market-leading Logistics Company to source a
Senior Logistics Managerto provide impeccable service to all clients and be a true brand ambassador.


In your role as a
Senior Logistics Manager, you will report to the UK Country manager and will focus on sourcing and contacting new clients, offering FLT and LTL services.


You will be managing a large portfolio of clients, as well as business development and new client acquisition, ensuring you provide exceptional customer service at all times.


Main responsibilities for
Senior Logistics Manager:


  • Maintenance of current customers: Including analysis of current lanes to assure we are competitive and providing excellent service.
  • Monthly financial analysis: including determining the overall success of current customer profiles.
  • Determine current rates in the marketplace offered by competitors.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data in CRM and other programs as needed.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Developing goals for specialized sales (LTL, Intermodal, etc.).
  • Development of sales leaders including succession planning.
  • Negotiating sales deals with customers and following up on a regular basis.
  • Manage orders, contracts, and original documentation for exports.

The ideal
Senior Logistics Manager:


  • Previous experience in FTL/LTL service
  • Deep knowledge of UK/IE markets
  • Strong attitude to the "new" and the building of new business throughout the UK/IE
  • Corporate experience is a plus as we'll build a team around her/him within 1/2 years
- "Aggressiveness" and break-through attitude

  • Intermodal service experience is a plus
  • Any European language is a plus (German overall but also Italian, French or Polish)
  • Proven track record of reducing costs and increasing efficiency in shipping and receiving operations
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
