PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Leading a small finance team, the purpose of the role is to ensure the effective operation of the company's purchase ledger, sales ledger, month end reconciliations, reports, and ownership of accounting systems.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS FINANCE TEAM LEADER
Leading a small finance team, ensuring accuracy of data entry, reporting, and ensuring all deadlines are met.

Responsible for developing and training junior members of the team.

Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team.

Responding to finance queries throughout the business.

Month end journals.

Support with cash collection and credit control.

Review balance sheet reconciliations.

Manage Sage 200 system including closing ledgers, reporting, and answering queries.

Support with processing of supplier invoices and payment runs and dealing with queries.

Produce and submit VAT returns.

Supporting the end of year audit.

Other ad hoc duties as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Proven experience of managing and developing a small team.

At least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

Purchase ledger experience

Sage 200 experience preferred.

Experience of month end closing

Experience of transactional journals

Strong Excel skills

Good attention to detail
