Housing Officer (Homelessness) - Night Shifts

Do you have a passion for supporting vulnerable people and making a positive impact on their lives? Are you available to work night shifts?

Hours for this position are 27.5 hours a week


We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housing Officer to join our team, supporting homeless people in St Helens.


About the Role:

  • As a Housing Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting homeless individuals and families, helping them access safe and secure accommodation.
  • You will work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop support plans, and help them navigate the housing system.
  • You will also provide emotional and practical support, empowering individuals to move towards greater independence.
  • This is a night shift role, working from 9pm to 8am

What you will need:

  • Experience working with vulnerable people, ideally within a homelessness setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A strong understanding of homelessness issues and relevant legislation.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach.
