Job Purpose Statement


As a Lead Facilitator and Coach, you will effectively plan and deliver leadership and management apprenticeship framework and commercial training programmes whilst creating a positive, exhilarating, safe learning environment to support learners to achieve their full potential.


You will be a commercially minded and well-rounded individual and as a seasoned professional, it is likely you have enjoyed a highly successful career in a client-facing role, working with senior stakeholders in a learning and development capacity.


Key Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Provide inspirational facilitation, tuition, support, and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, helping them to progress, achieve and reach their potential.
  • Design and deliver differentiated lessons, embedding Maths and English, to ensure active participation by all learners in the groups, leading to positive learning outcomes.
  • Conduct and interpret detailed skills gap analysis with learners to accurately identify learner's starting points, prior achievements, and experience.
  • Construct and maintain all learner documentation to reflect learner's characteristics and meet quality standards and funding compliance.
  • Ensure learner outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all learner work is marked and constructive feedback is given.
  • Conduct regular and timely progression reviews with learners as per the standard operating model, setting SMART targets and providing additional learner support as required.
  • Manage data relating to individual learner targets including working with other colleagues to ensure the onward progression of learners.
  • Promote and embed Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Health and Safety to all learning sessions.
  • To communicate any issues or concerns about learners to your line manager and designated Safeguarding Officer as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively towards the achievement of the department's targets, Discovery's Strategic Goals and Core Values.
  • Making a positive contribution to the effective functioning of the department and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Service Excellence Team to implement a highquality learning experience, whilst fulfilling Awarding Organisations and Inspectorate expectations.
  • Attend and complete any mandated training or Standardisation meetings as suggested/provided to ensure continuous improvement in practice.
  • Ensure learning environment is safe and maintained with sufficient resources available to all learners.
  • Regularly review own performance against core values and competencies, with a willingness to acquire any necessary qualifications or skills pertinent to the role.
  • Implement and maintain own CPPD records to accurately demonstrate preservation of professional competencies and knowledge for vocational area of specialism.
  • Act as an ambassador for Discovery exhibiting enthusiasm and professionalism at all times.
  • Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of the business.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Apprenticeship Levy experience
  • Assessing and marking experience
  • Minimum 2year recent apprenticeship delivery experience
  • Supported EPA
  • Minimum coaching of 2 years' experience
  • Grade A-C GCSE in English
