Organizational Level:

Reports to the Lead (Discipline) Designer following the Project Organogram.


Main Function:

The Mechanical Designer is tasked with preparing engineering drawings based on the Discipline Designer's requirements. They also contribute to technical bid evaluations when requested and can work with mínimal supervision.


Responsibility and Authority:

Responsible for Design input to the planning and execution of the Project, reporting directly to the Lead (Discipline) Designer.

Responsible for reporting progress within their Engineering area of the Project in accordance with Project reporting requirements and the Project Organogram.

Holds signing authority in accordance with the Project Signature Matrix.


Work Duties:

Provide design assistance to the Lead (Discipline) Designer throughout the project lifecycle.

Familiarize oneself with codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to the draughting function.

Adhere to Company quality control assurance requirements applicable to the draughting function.

Generate base design drawings/models from agreed work-scope with mínimal input from Engineering personnel.

Accept delegated responsibility and control budgets for delegated tasks.

Utilize company and client draughting standards and specifications.

Communicate clearly with Engineering personnel.


Qualification Requirements:


Education:


Experience / Profile:

Essential Criteria:
Computer Literate (database/spreadsheets).

Sound knowledge of Autocad, Microstation, and CAD draughting techniques.

Experience in projects in the oil & gas sector with a sound technical CAD background.


Language Skills:

Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
