The Product Designer is responsible for delivering the best online user experience, gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components.
Role Responsibilities
- Conducting user research and evaluating user feedback
- Developing and maintaining user personas that can be referenced at any stage of the product development process
- Collaborating with the Product Owner to support the 2weekly sprint cycle, backlog and roadmap of deliverables
- Maintaining our design system and ensuring that this is implemented correctly across all media
- Creating assets, wireframes, process flows and interactive designs to effectively communicate designs, concepts and prototypes
- Presenting designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
- Liaising with the Development and Testing teams to provide guidance and answer questions relating to aspects of the designs
- Ensuring that designs and design elements adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, and that guidance is given to the Development and Testing teams
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst and the Product Owner to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Conduct usability tests and identify and troubleshoot UI/UX problems
- Work with the Product Owner and the scrum team to provide UI/UX input and guidance to support the ongoing sprint goals
Skills and Experience for the role
- Proven work experience as a Product Designer or similar role
- Experience carrying out usability research and user interviews
- Experience of working in a scrum team and agile processes
- A portfolio demonstrating your previous work
- Experience with design, wireframing and handoff tools e.g., Figma, Axure, Zeplin and Photoshop
- Knowledge & experience in designing to WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards

- Authority on accessible design

- Strong organization and planning skills, which help you to efficiently plan and implement your changes
- Experience with Public Sector clients desirable, but not essential
- Experience in an ISO 27001 accredited environment desirable, but not essential
