BRC are working with a reputable Housing Association in Somerset and SW to recruit a temporary to potentially permanent Repairs Surveyor into their team.

Our client is looking for an experienced surveyor to identify, inspect, and provide solutions to problemsand defects with their stock.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the senior surveyor with the delivery of responsive, cyclical and major repairs to tenanted and void properties
  • Diagnose maintenance requirements and ensure that the quality of works delivered by contractors are on time and within budget
  • Inspect and assess any repair requests and defects where an immediate repair may not be appropriate, and technical advice is required to identify and advise on appropriate solutions.
  • Certify that contractors provide value for money through checking of invoices and valuations and ensue that works are delivered in line with CDM regulations
  • Ensure that all health and safety policies are followed and works comply with the H&S and fire safety requirements
  • Deliver the minor adaptations service within agreed budgets
  • Update Housing Management Asset System immediately following planned works installations
  • Undertake void inspections and specifications
  • Carry out asbestos and hazardous materials inspections and ensure all information is logged
  • Act on customer complaints and provide technical advice and support
  • Attend scheme meetings and regional tenant representative meetings and report on maintenance matters

Job Requirements:

  • HND / HNC level in construction or building qualification
  • Good understanding and knowledge of utilising IT software including Microsoft Office
  • A driver with access to own vehicle
