Hours:
This is a full-time post. 36.5 hours per week (7.5 hours Monday to Thursday and 6.5 hours on
Friday. The post-holder will occasionally be expected to work during the evening/weekend to
organize/attend College events which will be compensated by time in lieu

Tenure:
This post is offered on a Permanent basis

Holidays: 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time working)

Job Summary:
Fitzwilliam College is looking to recruit an Outreach Officer to join our Admissions Team. We are
recruitment and widening participation events, initiatives and resources and to help develop
outreach strategies. We are looking for someone to create and maintain a clear and engaging public
profile for outreach and widening participation at Fitzwilliam, and ensure effective engagement with
prospective applicants, paying particular attention to those from underrepresented groups.

The successful applicant will be well-organised, proactive, and highly motivated, with excellent verbal
and written skills. A good understanding of secondary education is essential. You will also have
excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages and social media.

Primary Responsibilities

Take an active part in determining the College's outreach strategy, along with the Admissions Tutors and

other team members

  • Liaise with the Admissions Tutors and work with the Schools Liaison Officer to design and maintain a comprehensive
widening participation strategies.

  • Plan, organise and administrate widening participation and recruitment initiatives (large and small scale), including
College and University Open Days (in person and online).

  • Have day to day management of the widening participation and outreach budget in conjunction with the Admissions
Tutors.

  • Be the main contact person for Admissions events in college and coordinate events with/for the Schools Liaison
Officer.

  • Develop and maintain an uptodate knowledge of research and best practice within t
