Job Purpose

You will support projects based Document Control and Project Support resources working within the James Fisher Nuclear (JFN) Project environment and provide a service to maintain project documentation control across Projects.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a document control service to allocated projects across James Fisher Nuclear Ltd (JFNL).
  • Maintain a Document Management System (DMS), electronic or otherwise, as chosen by JFNL.
  • Register and control/issue all project documentation on the chosen DMS.
  • Control the issue and distribution of project documentation with a recorded and traceable audit trail (internal circulation and external transmittal).
  • Ensure all checked and approved documentation is correctly signed off by authorised personnel.
  • Check all documentation passing through document control is to project standard and is complete for issue (eg. document number(s) correct, revision numbers, signatures, dates, security classifications, correct template etc).
  • Handle documentation in line with project and document security classifications and restrictions, as stipulated by JFNL and Alliance/Client requirements.
  • Assist the Lead Document Controller to manage the handover of project documentation and the archiving and destruction of documentation and assist in the creation of record retention documents in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Carry out regular checks using the Document Register to highlight any due/overdue documents informing responsible personnel as appropriate.
  • Maintain a controlled and secure storage area for project documentation in a format dictated by the Project Manager. The standard approach is to hold documents electronically with hard copy 'wet signed originals' being handed to M&W (for onward issuing to Client).
  • Photocopying and scanning of documentation.

Key Skills and Competencies
Essential

  • Previous Document Control Experience in a Construction / Engineering background, preferably in Nuclear sector.
  • Previous use of Electronic DMS system(s).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to rapidly expedite of information.
  • Maintain document history and authentication.
  • Awareness of Document Security and Legal Admissibility.
  • Analysis and Tracking of Data, reporting.
Desirable

  • Awareness of British Standards (ISO) in Document Control.
  • Security Cleared or SQEP'ed
  • Knowledge of Microsoft File Manager, Sharepoint, and Esiora/Conisio
