Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their busy and thriving team.


Duties include:


  • To actively work on payroll activities, in line with terms and conditions to meet legislative and audit requirements, agreed deadlines and targets and ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time
  • To be responsible for dealing with historical pay cases, liaising with HMRC and other professional payroll organisations as and when required
  • Support the planning and execution of the tax yearend processes, including submission of relevant forms and returns to HMRC
  • Provide complex advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels in the organisation on PAYE, NI, SMP, SSP, Pension ensuring regulatory compliance across parliament regarding payroll and pension related legislation and statutory obligations
  • To actively work on the monthly reconciliations of payrolls, maintaining evidence of checks carried out
  • Ensure that all payroll deductions and liabilities (incl. PAYE, NI, court orders etc.) are made and support the process for ensuring these are paid over when due and loan balances are reconciled
  • Ensure that relevant benefits, such as pensions and season ticket loans, are operated effectively and the administration meets performance, quality, and customer care targets
  • Responsible for the processing of client payrolls, varying in size and complexity, and providing advice and guidance where appropriate
  • Dealing with payroll queries effectively and in a timely manner
