You need to have a genuine passion in working with elderly patients and willing to make a difference in their lives.
You will be expected to deliver high standards of care incorporating the recovery approach to cover all aspects of health needs and risks within a safe environment by working closely with the relevant community services.
This will involve giving support to individuals to meet their psychological and physical health needs.
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nursing Associates or Nursing associate trainee to join our inpatient teams at South West London and St.
Crocus Ward (Springfield Hospital) is a 19 bedded unit that offers care and treatment for male and female patients over 75 years of age.
The service offers Inpatient care for older people with mental health problems, provides assessment and treatment of older people with a range of diagnoses, who require hospital care due to the severity of need.
We provide services for patients cannot be cared for in the community or other settings, due to the intensity and expertise of the care required.
Within this setting all aspects of physical health, social care needs, and risks are jointly managed by a multi-disciplinary team, which forms part of a planned and integrated holistic system approach to care.
About the location:
Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK.
Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafés, restaurants etc.
Foundation Degree - or studying towards or equivalent level of educational attainmentCompletion of Care Certificate and acquired competencies
English and Mathematics basic qualifications (eg GCSE at Grade C or
above or evidence of Level 2 in Functional skills for numeracy and literacy)
Clinical experience minimum 1 year and experience of engaging with service users / patients
Knowledge of treatment options.
Able to provide quality care that is responsive to service user's needs, with supervision available but not always present, and acting on own initiative, within protocols, policies and care plans.
Communications skills - receiving and conveying sensitive information, with staff and with service users and able to keep accurate records.
Knowing when to escalate concerns and to whomCredible in a multi-professional environment
Ability to positively engage distressed individuals and de-escalate highly-aroused situations
Highly resilient and able to respond to difficult interpersonal situations, which may, at times, be traumatic / distressing.
