Finance Assistant to join the team.


What will you be doing?


The Finance Assistant role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid background in credit control or accounts receivable, who would like to develop and further their career in finance.


The jobholder will be responsible for accounts administration and will support the Finance Co-ordinator with accounts related queries and processes.


  • Customer contract administration
  • Processing purchase invoices and checking for anomalies, chasing missing invoices
  • Bank reconciliation for 3 Companies
  • Adhoc sales ledger invoicing
  • Create and maintain Customer and Supplier ledgers within the accounting system
  • Convert quotes and attach supporting documentation
  • Supporting Finance Coordinator with the preparation of monthly ledger period ends
  • Provide basic customer information to account managers i.e current contract list, outstanding invoice balances etc
  • Process employee expenses claims
  • Work with the Finance Coordinator to develop a basic understanding of the management accounts in order to perform adhoc finance reporting
  • Be the first point of contact for all finance related queries such as invoicing issues and accounting discrepancies, escalate to Finance Coordinator if further support is required
  • Maintain the finance written procedures, update when necessary

What skills and experience should you have?

  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar position
  • Preferably holds AAT Level
  • Strong IT skills, confident in the use of MS Word & Excel
  • Understanding of finance software and CRM (Access Dimensions or similar)
  • Personable, approachable and welcoming
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical focus & numerical reasoning, using logic to evaluate facts and draw appropriate conclusions, able to handle numbers easily, prepare stats and reports.
  • High level of attention to detail, good judgement demonstrating logical decision making.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A flexible approach to varied work tasks.
