Site Engineer6 month notice
£350 - £400 per shift
Located in Norwich
My client is looking for a Site Engineer to join the site team located in Norwich on a contract basis to assist with the ongoing site works.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs
- Be experienced and competent with the setting out equipment for roads / footpaths or similar heavy civil projects
- Undertake basic takeoff
- Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures
- Read and review construction drawings
- Capable of setting out to exact drawing specifications
- Ensure work is executed in a safe manner meeting legal guidelines set out in health safety and requirements and environmental compliance
- Safety / Quality / Programme and Production
- Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
- Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and make improvements as appropriate;
- Deliver end product to customer satisfaction
- Implement appropriate policies and procedures
- Promote best practice amongst engineering staff and encourage their career progression
- Develop the directly employed labour including, supervision, appraisals, training, absence management and motivation
- Ensure works are completed on time, within budget and to specification
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be experienced and competent with the setting out equipment
- Proven track record as a Site Engineer working in similar positions
- Previous experience working on heavy civil based projects
- Ensure compliance with designs
- Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering
- Have the required training and experience to resolve typical site based issues
- Be able to work as part of a site team
- Have a CSCS qualification specific to the works will be undertaking
- Capable of setting out to exact drawing specifications
- Responsible for setting out and Levelling off the site: Producing QA reports and leasing with the subcontractors
- Working for National Grid experience (Person / BESC) is desired but not essential
