The Crane Planner role with KBS Maritime performs a vital role within the Portsmouth Dockyard.

The role will focus on planning and allocating cranes and plant operators to a huge number of varied requests for heavy lifts that we receive on a daily basis.

Sitting within the Alongside Services Team you will be responsible for assigning the right resources at the right time making sure that the correct resources are allocated, whether it be internally or through utilising external resources.

This will involve timely and accurate maintenance of asset information boards and liaising with maintenance teams to ensure that all out of service assets are taken into account when planning schedules are being developed.

This will sometimes be at short notice so being able to think on your feet will be a key asset.

In time, there is the expectation that the post-holder will be able to predict potential issues before they arise, this will come with experience and from support that you will receive from your colleagues within the direct and wider team.

To achieve success in this role you will be able to demonstrate outstanding administrative and co-ordination skills to be able to deliver the services together with effective communication skills that will enable you to discuss issues with tact and diplomacy with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
