NEDDC are recruiting for an experienced Planning Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister - or someone who is nearing qualification and has a keen interest in Planning Law - to join their team.

The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic lawyer with excellent communication skills to join our small but perfectly formed legal team.

Whether you are newly qualified, returning to work after a break, or looking to do something different, you should have a sound understanding of public law, reliable legal judgment and a good appreciation of legal risk.

Whilst Local Authority experience is desirable, we welcome applicants who have relevant skills and experience obtained through the private or public sector.

Providing legal advice to the Council as a Planning and Commercial specialist, the work will cover a wide range of matters from planning advice and s106 agreements to working on projects and contracts.

As part of the in-house team, you will have the opportunity to help to shape the future for NEDDC.

You will also have an opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience by supporting the Legal Services Manager with enforcement work to develop your skills and experience.

About you

We are looking for fresh thinking and enthusiastic individuals who have a team player approach and are passionate about providing a high-quality legal service.

You may be qualified as a Barrister, Solicitor or Legal Executive (Fellow) or newly qualified, and whether you are experienced in these areas, or seeking to move to an alternative legal specialism, we are keen to hear from you
