Salary:
£28,371 - £31,099 (depending on experience) per year, Grade 8 (NJC scp 20-24)

Holiday: 35 days (pro-rata), including bank holidays with the ability to accrue additional leave to cover the Christmas shut-down period.

Hours: 37 per week that can be arranged flexibly


We are recruiting a Nature Recovery Officer to be responsible for the delivery of a programme of prioritised projects to protect, enhance and restore the coastal habitats within the harbour and supports the Solent Seascape project.


In response to the declining state of nature, Chichester Harbour Conservancy established the CHaPRoN partnership (Chichester Harbour Protection and Recovery of Nature) in 2020, as an initiative to help protect and restore the Harbour's natural environment.

CHaPRoN is one of ten partners in the Blue Marine's Solent Seascape Project:

a five-year, multi-million-pound conservation project to reconnect the Solent into a functioning seascape by improving the condition, extent, and connectivity of key marine and coastal habitats.

The project is funded by the Endangered Landscape Programme, managed by the Cambridge Conservation Initiative in partnership with Arcadia, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.


The post holder will report directly to the CHaPRoN Manager at Chichester Harbour Conservancy, and work with both the CHaPRoN partnership and the Solent Seascape Partnership to deliver prioritised projects that fulfil the aims of both partnership initiatives.
